Mera Pati Salman Khan
This is a story of two childhood friends, Ragini and Vinita, who reunite after many years. Once inseparable, they now find themselves navigating the complexities of adulthood. Social anxieties and insecurities quickly take over as they each feel the need to present a perfect picture of their lives. In their desire to outdo one another, they begin boasting about their lifestyles, homes, luxuries, and even their husbands. What starts as harmless exaggeration soon spirals into a tangled web of white lies, each one requiring another to sustain the illusion.
The play, while a laugh-riot comedy, holds up a mirror to society, revealing how social interactions are often layered with pretense. Through humor, it raises deeper questions about loneliness, disconnection, and the struggles of modern life. It sheds light on how people often feel the need to conform to societal expectations and how, in doing so, they lose touch with their true selves. The two protagonists — one from Delhi and the other from Mumbai — represent different cultures, but both are caught in the same trap of appearances. Their rivalry escalates as they try to prove that their lives, including their marriages, are better. Ultimately, the story asks: how can we truly connect when we are so disconnected from ourselves?
